Solofo

Solofo is a finger style guitarist from Strasbourg France. Born to a French mother and Malagasy father, he is a fresh bright light in the finger style, singer songwriter scene. Fully dedicated to explore the acoustic steel string guitar, he finds inspiration in the traditional Malagasy music, blues, and West African music as well as in some contemporary fingerstyle masters such as Don Ross.

Solofo’s debut album, “Watching Things grow” was released in autumn 2009. It illustrates his multiple influences through twelve tunes crossing borders between Malagasy rhythms, West Africans melodies and folk music.
