It would be modest to say that Nibs van der Spuy is an unsung hero, and an acoustic guitar legend of Southern Africa. Nibs van der Spuy’s spellbinding acoustic guitar style was recognized with his first band, Landscape Prayers between 1993 – 2003. His diversity as a songwriter, singer and finger stylist, reached a broader audience with the release of his solo albums; ‘Lines on my face’ (1999) and ‘Flower in the rain’(2002). His third offering, ‘Beautiful feet’ was released internationally in 2007 receiving rave reviews in every country, from the London Guardian to the Sydney Herald. “A Bird in the Hand” comes hot on the heels of “Beautiful Feet” featuring eleven new songs have captured the natural, pacified and rural relaxed spirit of the East Coast of Africa

He was nominated for “Best Instrumental” album at the South African Music Awards in 1999 and 2002 and has toured intensely across the globe with including festivals and Club circuits traveling from Bryon Bay, Australia to Rochenfort en Accords in France. He has extensively toured UK, Germany, France, Italy, South Africa & Holland.His album released in globally received most traction in France, South Africa and Germany. Countries like Australia, UK, USA, Japan, Canada also has some success. .
