Recently, CITES has imposed new, stricter regulations on the export and trade of Rosewoods (Dalbergia and Kosso families), and this has clearly induced some anxiety to the guitar buying community, especially our international friends.
First off, we would like to say that, at Maestro Guitars, we have been sourcing our woods from sustainable sources from the very beginning. As such, we fully support such a move as it’s a clear, definite step towards mitigating the over exploitation of our forests.
We would like to reassure everyone that while concerning, we are working with the authorities on ensuring that our woods are CITES certified and that necessary steps are taken in ensuring that this is always going to be the case.
For any further inquiries, do not hesitate to drop us an email, and we would be happy to assist you.
Happy New year to everyone in advance, and we hope that everyone has a good one!
